How Many Final Destination Movies Are There?
More Than You'd Think!
By subjecting young people to increasingly disturbing and violent ‘accidents,’ the Final Destination franchise has carved out a niche for itself in the horror genre since 2000. In the movies, the director has shown the final test of survival as a sequence of seemingly unrelated events resulting in several young individuals’ deaths.
Final Destination was both a critical and commercial hit regardless of who survived the events. It currently has five releases one must watch.
So without further ado, let’s get into the topic!
How Many Final Destination Movies Are There?
Over 11 years, the director has created five films based on Final Destination’s book series. Although it is not necessary to watch Final Destination movies in order, you can relate the connections in various plots if you do. The following is a list of all of the Final Destination movies in the sequence:
Final Destination (2000)
Alex has a nightmare in which the aircraft that he is supposed to travel on suddenly detonates, taking the lives of everyone on board. He begins to scream that the plane will crash as soon as he wakes up from the nightmare and discovers that everything is occurring precisely the way he imagined it in his dream.
After Alex and his buddies get off the aircraft, the plane drops, and everyone begins questioning Alex’s credibility. A memorial service is held 39 days after the plane disaster, during which Alex’s friends begin to express their gratitude for the fact that he helped save their lives. Even though Alex and his companions have circumvented The Death Design, they will inevitably perish.
Final Destination 2 (2003)
After the last film’s events, Kimberly and her pals decide to take a vacation together. This takes place exactly one year after the Plane Car crash. While they were traveling for spring break, Kimberly began having the feeling that something terrible was about to happen. Then, suddenly, a catastrophic tragedy occurred, resulting in many people’s deaths, but Kimberly and her companions were unharmed.
It was all in Kimberly’s head, and the group was still traveling on the highway. After the terrifying experience, Kimberly begins to describe what she had just seen in her dream, but at that moment, the accident takes place, taking all of her close friends with it. Many people have been able to disrupt the Death Design thanks to Kimberly, but in a short time, death will begin to destroy everyone.
Final Destination 3 (2006)
Wendy has a nightmare that the roller coaster she and her friends are about to ride is going to collapse. So she decides to get off the roller coaster. However, the roller coaster crashes shortly after Wendy’s decision, killing everyone.
In addition, Kevin explains to Wendy about the aircraft crash tragedy and how all of the survivors of the plane crash ultimately perished in horrible ways. Still, Wendy chooses to dismiss Kevin’s explanation. Wendy begins to see visions of her friends and uncovers hints that point to their deaths; after concluding that Kevin was correct, she finally meets him and starts making plans for how she will stay alive.
The Final Destination (2009)
At the film’s beginning, the director shows Nick and his buddies lounging about in section 180 and watching the Car race. Nick has the impression that something negative will occur, and he has a vision of an accident that would result in their deaths all around them, while everyone else is content and having a good time.
Following the terrifying vision, Nick becomes aware that everything is proceeding in the same sequence as the events he had just envisioned. Nick begins to yell and pulls all of his pals away from the stadium just before the disaster occurs. Nick and his buddies are the only ones who escape impending death.
Final Destination 5 (2011)
When the final destination movie begins, Sam is getting ready to go on a trip with his coworkers. Sam has a suspicion that the bridge they are about to cross will give way under their weight, taking everyone with it. When Sam comes to, he realizes everything is unfolding like the vision he had just seen.
In addition, Sam gets everyone’s attention by announcing that the bridge is about to give way, and then he exits the bus. In the following chapters, Sam discovers all there is to know about the Death Pattern, including that the only way to survive is to murder everyone. The IMBD rating for Final Destination 5 (2011) is 5.9.
Is Final Destination 6 Coming Out?
The finale of Final Destination 5 hints that the final destination series will be coming to an end, and even though it’s been twelve years since the last film came out, the production team hasn’t shown any clue that they are working on the sixth film in the series.
Is There Going to Be a Final Destination 7?
Since it is possible to reach Final Destination 7, “he claimed if Final Destination 5 is a Box office Success that they Would make Two, movies back to back” is all we know about it. This quote came from an interview with Tony Todd in 2011. Horror fans will most likely have to wait until the sixth film’s release before we can get further details on the film.
Is Final Destination 5 Based on a True Story?
“Actual incidents loosely inspire the Final Destination,” says the film’s franchise. However, the concept that death would pursue survivors after their brush with mortality belongs in the world of fiction rather than reality.
