Crying is not a trait limited to women alone. Men too have tear ducts and until puberty men and women cry almost the same amount of tears when in pain or when feeling sad. It has been observed that women cry more frequently than men. Crying is an expression of intense emotions. Though it has been related mostly with grief, even a feeling of intense happiness can make tears well up in your eyes. There are many reasons behind a girl’s tears. Some say that it is the hormone prolactin which is responsible for making women cry. Though this hormone is present both in men and women, it has been found in greater quantity in women’s blood and tears.
